St. Andrew's School vs Boys Latin 1968

This video of the 1968 Saints football team vs Boys Latin shows the determination of this team. Captain Bill Knight '69 and several other players were unable to play in this game due to various injuries. Ahead from the beginning, the Reds were lead offensively by Dayton Allen '69 who gained 191 yards rushing. The defense gave up more points in this particular game than they did for the rest of the season. Junior Scott Ross '70 led the defense against Boys Latin with 23 tackles. The expectations for this team were grim as there were very few returning players, but what it accomplished was incredible. Their season ended with a 6-0-1 record. Bill Knight '69, Tom Stephens '70 and Bill Strong '70 were selected first team All-Conference. Tim Margulies '69 and Bobo Olson '70 received second team honors.
