We are delighted to welcome you to the St. Andrew’s Archive. This Web site allows us to share our School’s rich history with you.

We invite you to browse our collections and peruse the many documents and photographs that have become precious to us in their embodiment of that history. We also encourage you to visit our “Help Us Identify These” section, located on the home page, where perhaps you can help us assign names and dates to some of the people and events featured in old photographs of life at St. Andrew’s.

The St. Andrew's School Archive collection is an ongoing project aimed at preserving the School's rich history.

The St. Andrew's School Archive collection is an ongoing project aimed at preserving the School's rich history. Many individuals have helped to compile these archives, including Bill Amos, Ellie Washburn, Bob Moss and Edith M. Pell, Wife of St. Andrew's  first Headmaster, who captured the School's early years in her scrapbooks. Committed archivists Alice M. Ryan and Chester Baum have also helped bring St. Andrew's past to life.

Mission

The mission of St. Andrew’s School Archive is to actively document and make available records that have enduring historical significance and interest to the students, faculty, staff and alumni of the School. The purpose of the Archive is to promote knowledge and understanding of the origins, programs and goals of the School, and to create a permanent and useful resource to support, stimulate and nourish teaching and learning. The Archive acts as the final repository for non-current records in all formats of St. Andrew’s School. In pursuit of these goals, the Archive will:

  • Gather
  • Appraise
  • Organize
  • Describe
  • Make available
  • Preserve

Records of historical and/or administrative value that have been generated by academic departments and offices, faculty, students, alumni and other supporters of the School.
