St. Andrew's School Magazine, 2010 Spring / Summer

This issue celebrates, and the cover photo shows, the graduating seniors of the Class of 2011. Tad Roach's remarks, speeches by senior co-Presidents Devin Duprey ’11 and Daniel Hasse ’11, and the Commencement Address by departing faculty member John Austin ’83 are all included. The issue also contains a recap and photos of Reunion Weekend. Trustee Kitten Gahagan, faculty members Fred Geiersbach and Terence Gilheany and staff member Joe Kalmbacher are all profiled. We learn of plans for the new Sipprelle Field House, gift of Scott ’81 and Tracy Sipprelle and Dwight ’76 and Susan Sipprelle, and learn how it will strengthen athletics at the School. We also learn how the School's organic garden has grown to become an integral part of campus life. Elizabeth Roach shares a Chapel talk on the theme "Family" and Tad Roach speaks at Old St. Anne's Church. St. Andrew's hosts the first Women's Network Weekend and Gail Wright ’84 offers remarks on her life and career. Michaela Cole ’76 and Polly Dolan ’85 work with women in need in San Antonio, Texas and Tanzania, respectively. In Memory honors Peter Nalle ’41, Andrew McFall ’42, David Stewart ’44, Landon Burns ’47, Jonathan Balch ’59, Paul Kuehner ’62, Anton Schefer ’62, James Ryan ’74 and Theodore Hall ’80. The back cover shows St. Andreans who raced in the 20th Annual Diamond State Masters Regatta held on Noxontown Pond in July.
