Headmaster Tad Roach's remarks in the opening faculty meeting of the 2007-08 school year and Emily Pressman's Convocation talk both appear in this issue. We learn about new trustees and Alumni Association Board members, and about recent renovations to campus. An article by Matthew Roach '04 called "Testing How We Teach" recaps the Authentic Assessment Conference at St. Andrew's (headlined by experts Dr. Richard Hersh and Dr. Tony Wagner) and discusses the College and Work Readiness Assessment (CWRA), an assessment of critical thinking now used at the school. We meet students Pem Heath '08 and Justin Weidner '08 and nurse Joanne Christian. Nathan Costa recounts his leave of absence studying liturgical music in Minnesota.
