To honor the School's 75th anniversary, Hope McGrath ’01 and Joy McGrath ’92 tell the story of the founding of St. Andrew's. Archival photographs illustrate the story and the front cover of the magazine. Faculty members Nigel and Nicole Furlonge discuss diversity in the current-day school. Updates on facilities projects, including the construction of the O'Brien Arts Center and the renovation of Amos Hall, are provided and Facilities Manager Dave McKelvey and Director of Facilities Management and Planning Bill Soukup are interviewed. To commemorate Kirk Varnedoe ’63, the Magazine reprints with permission a New Yorker profile of the art historian, written by Adam Gopnik. Hume Horan ’51, Jonathan Wilford, Jr. ’41, J. Fell Davis, Jr. ’55 are also remembered. Updates on new faculty, faculty and student summer activities, campus events, and Alumni Corporation Board members round out this issue.
