St. Andrew's School Magazine, 2003 Winter

The cover photo and an article in this issue both celebrate the football team's undefeated 2002 season. They share this accomplishment with the football teams of 1939 and 1969. The issue also includes two Chapel talks by Headmaster Tad Roach from Parents' Weekend and Founders' Day. Fall campus events including Parents' Weekend, the Turkey Trot, the SAISL, and visits by an Olympic swimmer and a professional conductor, are highlighted. The feature article explores the School's residential life. Written by Headmaster Tad Roach, Assistant Headmaster for Student Life Peter Caldwell, Directors of Residential Life Dana Byrd and Gary Harney, and Dorm Parents Amy Patterson and Marc Cheban, the article also includes comments by residential leaders Charles Stayton, Owen Cadwalader, Dodie Press and Jillian Black, all from the Form of 2003. It also includes memories from Greg Dorn ’86, Alison Amos Muller ’78, Dan Hermes ’88 and Richard Baer ’62 as well as former faculty member William H. Amos. There are three profiles of Saints in Service: former faculty member Mel Bride (Cofradia Bilingual School in Honduras), Molly Ruane ’03 (Camp Lenape, Delaware) and Erica Landskroener ’04 (service in rural Thailand). In memory commemorates Huldah Moss and Horace Harrison ’39.
