The Headmaster's Note in this issue discusses the triple threat faculty. From Founders' Hall, Loudon Wainwright III '65 writes about longtime English teacher, Ches Baum '36. Cardinal Points includes this year's winter sports highlighting the girls' swim team taking third place in states. Sulaiman Jenkins '99 is featured as the first St. Andrean to score 1,000 points during his basketball career. Jessi Walter '99 is honored for her achievement as an all-stater in girls' swimming for four years. Allison Brayton '97 interviews Andy Florance '82 about his technology-based company, RIG. James Perry '46 writes a beautiful tribute to his step-brother William "Holly" Whyte '35. Several photos are included. The spotlight of this issue is "On the Water", "For many St. Andreans, water is a way of life. On historic sailing vessels or sleek, high-tech yachts, alums are riding the wind and the waves." Christina Bielaszka-DuVernay writes about faculty members at work in the creative arts, be it poetry, pottery or painting. Lots of photos and class notes as well as photos from recent metro stops. Peter Megargee Brown '40 writes a tribute to fellow classmate Powell Pierpoint '40 upon his recent death. The In Memory section focuses on Holly Whyte '35, Wesley Martin '49, Daniel Luke '52, Rodger Melling '62, and former faculty member Laurie Moss. Tad Roach's eulogy of Richard Stow, husband of school counselor DyAnn Miller, can also be found in this section.
