This edition of St. Andrew's Magazine features Jon and Joan O'Brien and celebrates their retirement from the School after 20 years of remarkable service. Alumni, parents and friends pay tribute to the O'Brien's through letters, poems and stories. A new Vespoli was unveiled and christened the "Bradford D. Bates" for the long time girls' crew coach. Faculty news announces the retirement of Walter Liefeld '54 after 25 years of service. Girls swim team wins Independent Conference Championship. A tribute to A. Felix duPont, Jr. son of the School's founder, who passed away in 1996 and served on the Board of the School for over 30 years. In Memory features the passing of Lois Voorhees, wife of faculty member G. Coerte Voorhees, Harold Wood '56, Arthur Partridge '50 and Keri Advocat '91. Class notes section has correspondence from the classes of 1934 through 1996. The front cover is a photograph of the portrait of Jon and Joan O'Brien while the back cover is of the O'Briens sitting with the portrait right outside the headmaster's door along with the portrait artist John Boyd Martin.
