This issue of the School magazine introduces French and English teacher Monica Matouk '84 as the new Academic Dean along with Math and Science teacher Eric Kemer as her associate. Announcement of the publication of "Time to Remember", written by scientist, author and long time faculty member, Bill Amos. In this book, Bill writes about St. Andrew's School from the 1950s through the 1980s.
Julie Holderness '99 writes about her trip to Crooked Island during Thanksgiving break. Students attended Yale University's Model Congress in November and received honorable mention in the Best School category. An invitation was received from the White House to the SAS concert choir to perform during the 1995 holiday season. 1995 fall season sports updates are included where you can find a brief summary on all your favorite fall sports, i.e., cross country, field hockey, football, soccer, and volleyball. Donna Kinney Speers writes an article titled: How Do We Teach Students to Learn?" Donna interviews seasoned teachers of various disciplines, Tad Roach, Nan Mein, Darcy Caldwell, and Eric Kemer with quotes from alums and current students. An excerpt from an article that appeared in the August '96 issue of Town & Country, titled: "America's Top Boarding Schools", which includes a summary on St. Andrew's. A tribute to Director of the School's physical plant, Wally Williams. Wally retired after ten years of service. In the Alumni News section it is noted that Ches Baum '36, returns to campus as the School archivist after being away for some 20 plus years. Bob Owens '83 constructs an alumni website to keep St. Andreans in touch with one another. The In Memory section honors Alan Baldwin '36. Faculty News page captures faculty members in various stages of campus life as well as faculty children. Many, many class notes are included as well.
