St. Andrew's School Magazine, 1981 Fall

Renaissance man, Bulent Atalay '58, is featured in this issue of the magazine. Bulent spent time at SAS in April giving a series of lectures. On the inside back page you can see his lithographs of St. Andrew's. Commencement speaker David Levinson's '53 remarks are included as well as graduate Mary Lou Hamilton's address. Mary Lou was the first female graduate to speak at commencement. Photos from the spring play, Teahouse of the August Moon, and spring workday can be found. A piece on Ward Wallace for his 25 years of service to the School is included and also includes a poem he wrote. The announcement of many new faculty, Howard Fraker, Thomas Odden, Francis Pergolizzi, Leanne Pergolizzi, William Pruden, Elizabeth Roach, Susan Strater, Karinne Tong, Di Ucci, Webster Wheelock, Kathleen Wheelock along with their photos and bios. The importance of the School's annual fund is described in an article that includes charts and graphs. A new girls' crew shell is dedicated, the gift of Kippy duPont '55. An article written by Ken Richards '61, originally printed in the Crested Butte Pilot can be found along with many class notes.
