First edition signed Gone With the Wind. Book donated by Arthur P. Laws '45 belonged to his mother Frances Powell who was a childhood friend of Margaret Mitchell. 2 photographs glued into inside cover. Top photograph has ink writing on the edges dating the photo and naming the people in the photo: "1919, Jimmie Speas, Steve Mitchell, Arthur Bell, Margaret Mitchell, Frances Powell, Bernard Wilkins." Under this photo is Frances Powell Laws signature and the date May 1936. Bottom photograph has ink writing on the edges dating the photo and naming the people in the photo: "1919, Jimmy Speas, Steve Mitchell, Bernard Wilkins, Margaret Mitchell, Frances Powell, Arthur Bell -- taken by Bernard with a set camera". Flyleaf has Margaret Mitchell's signature.
