David Levinson '53 - Part 3: Two Ringers

The third segment of the account David Levinson '53 gave for the 2010 St. Andrew's Reunion Weekend Story Corps Project. In this story, David recalls receiving disciplinary action from Dave Washburn for being late on corridor after seeing his date to her quarters. Unsuccessfully disputing the action, he asks classmate Tom Cottrell '53 about the unfairness of the punishment. David relates that Tom says, "Sometimes there's a price to be paid for doing the right thing in this world." David says he has since recognized this as a supreme truth, and used this as a basis for his 1981 St. Andrew's Commencement Address.
