Notes
St. Andrew's School gardener Susan Kemer spoke to the community of what it means to farm, as pertaining to the literal as well as to the metaphorical: "Farming is a hope in the future, with all the beauty, gifts, and potential it holds always believing that with a little sweat, something wonderful will come of your work. It is a hope, belief, and a knowledge that even though there might be some failures, there will still be something fresh, beautiful, and delicious that will most likely be the result of all your hard work. Farming is an example of faith, belief, and hope that the knowledge you have will grow into something that is the beginning or start of something much bigger, exercising the faith that it will become."

Susan concludes: "For you, I would say, be confident, be peaceful and be believing that if you plan your future, do your best in this effort of life, of education, of fellowship with your peers and teachers - and I hope with your faith -that you will reap a beautiful harvest of knowledge, of friendships, of life skills that will enable you to be like the mustard seed, something so tiny that will grow to something wonderful and spread to influence a much larger sphere than its small beginning. Make this year a seed, a start to something magnificent, beautiful, and harvest the incredible potential to become fruitful in the rich soil that is St. Andrew’s."
