This issue of The Garth focuses on moving in day, orientation and the third and fourth formers trip to Echo Hill. Student Voice by Emma Budwig '02 writes of her trip to Echo Hill as a third former. An article by Jessie Wieland '99 lets us in on her summer trip to Iceland. Motivational speaker Andrea Wieland, a U.S. National Field Hockey Team goalie, speaks to the girls' field hockey and soccer players. Headmaster's Address, "Appreciating moments after rain" by Tad Roach. New faculty section features new members of the community including, Christina and Frederic Bielaszka-DuVernay, John Burk, Edmond '83 and Esther Chang, Hardy Gieske '92, Peter Hoopes '89, Hilary Mead, Candy and Mike Schuller, Dominick Talvacchio and Allison Twomey. An article describing Andrew Dennis' '90 visit to SAS where he spoke of his work in Cambodia. Nate Gray '99 earns his Eagle Scout badge. Fall sports are featured with a brief on each.
